New Range Lights installed and operating!
The revised and simplified Range Rules and Standard Operating Procedures replace the use of the red and green flags:
Was: Red Flag = Range HOT and Green Flag = Range COLD
Now: Red Lights on (or red flag posted if lights inoperative) = Range HOT, otherwise = Range COLD, no green flag needed.
The lights are on each post between shooting stations.
Uncased firearms may only be handled when the red lights are on (or red flag posted).
The first image shows the switch, located where the flags have been posted, with instructions on turning the range hot or cold posted above the switch. These instructions are also on the range bulletin board with the revised Range Rules.
Ruger recently discovered that all Mark IV™ pistols (including 22/45™ models) manufactured prior to June 1, 2017 have the potential to discharge unintentionally if the safety is not utilized correctly. In particular, if the trigger is pulled while the safety lever is midway between the "safe" and "fire" positions (that is, the safety is not fully engaged or fully disengaged), then the pistol may not fire when the trigger is pulled. However, if the trigger is released and the safety lever is then moved from the mid position to the "fire" position, the pistol may fire at that time.
