Park Improvements

Improvements in our Chapter by volunteers take many forms.

We now have the best newsletter in the League thanks to the initiative and efforts of volunteer Vernon Guidry.

Our objective is to make your Chapter into one of the best in the League.  We want you to be proud of your Membership and the support you provide to our Park and its programs.  This was a major step in achieving that objective.

Thank you, Vernon.

Expense Reimbursement

Helping to improve our facilities and need reimbursement for authorized expenses incurred on behalf of the Chapter?

Click on the link below to download the Expense Reimbursement Form and submit with the original receipt(s) to the Treasury Drop Box in the Chapter House or mail to P.O. Box 2955, Winchester VA  22604.

Note we are exempt from VA Sales Tax, but to qualify, purchases must be paid directly from Chapter funds, not reimbursable personal funds.  Check with the Treasurer for details.

Your Chapter Dues at work!

The original roof on our Chapter House was showing its age - rusting was particularly evident over the kitchen and leaks were staining the suspended ceiling tiles.

Had to be done to avoid damage inside.

This work was well beyond our volunteers so was contracted out.  Not cheap, but since we plan on having the Chapter around for a while, we figured it might as well be done well.

Wherever possible, we try to upgrade our Park using volunteer labor.

We installed a solar powered red light system on the Rifle/Pistol Range and have been making progress on improving the ecology of our lake and expanding the range of its residents.

Additional Park Improvement projects in the works include a five position stand on the Shotgun Range - we have received a set of clay launchers from another range that was discontinuing its shotgun activities due to encroaching residential development.  The Chapter will purchase the materials, design and construction is being done by volunteers.

We are also working on setting up a Field Archery Range and restoring the walking trails in the Park.
